Harris County is a growing community where citizens and businesses support the county schools in every endeavor. There are four elementary schools, one intermediate school, one middle school and one high school.
Art, music and physical education are offered to all students beginning in kindergarten. Our students continually make the community proud by their performance at local, state and national competitions. Students are offered the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports and extracurricular clubs at the local, state and national levels.
Each classroom has five Internet-connected computers, and laptop labs are available at each school. Students are encouraged to use technology as a tool in their daily assignments.
Two hundred students are offered pre-kindergarten through the Georgia Pre-kindergarten Program, allowing 4-year-olds to enjoy a full-day program at the school sites. Transportation is provided by the school system. After-school programs are offered at each elementary school for a nominal fee.
All Harris County public schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Meeting the standards of this organization assures parents that their children are receiving a quality education and are being prepared for the future.
Continuing Education
Harris County residents have easy access to post-secondary education. West Georgia Technical College, Columbus Technical College, LaGrange College, Columbus State University, Chattahoochee Valley Community College, Troy University and Auburn University are all within easy driving distance.
